Jordan suspects that there is a case of the “Omicron” mutant, which has been quarantined for 3 days

The head of the Health Committee at the National Center for Human Rights in Jordan, Ibrahim Al-Badour, pointed out that the Kingdom is on the cusp of recording the first infection with the new mutant “Omicron”.

Al-Badour indicated that there was a quarantine case for 3 days, and there were doubts about her being infected with the “Omicron” mutant.

The head of the Health Committee at the National Center for Human Rights said that the third wave of Corona that affects Jordan is under the auspices of the mutant “Delta”, “We expect that next week will be the peak of this wave.”

He added in his speech to the “News Seven” program today, Thursday, which is shown on “Roya” channel, that the number of infections with the Corona virus in the Kingdom is on the rise, noting that these numbers depend on the number of daily tests, “the more the number of tests increases, the higher the number of infections.”

Al-Badour considered that the death rate from the virus is “very high, and this is a worrying matter,” noting that 85% of hospital admissions are from unvaccinated people.

He pointed out that the capacity of hospitals in Jordan during the third wave of Corona is better than the previous two waves.

Al-Badour revealed that a third of the cases of corona during the third wave are from the young age group (12-18) years.

He stressed that the third dose of the anti-Corona vaccine is to protect the recipients of the two doses, calling for 6 months after receiving the second dose to take the third dose.

Al-Badour said that the third dose of the vaccine is to increase the antibodies and protect against the mutated “Omicron”.
