Including organizing meetings and wearing a mask.. new measures to confront Corona in Egypt

The Egyptian government has approved a number of new measures to confront the risk of the spread of the Corona virus, most notably wearing a mask, organizing meetings, and quarantining those coming to the country.

Resolution No. 3400 of 2021, issued by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, stipulates that all or some of the precautionary measures be taken, in a manner that preserves public health and safety.

According to the text of the decision published in the Official Gazette, the Supreme Committee for the Management of Epidemics and Pandemics is responsible for issuing the decision and taking the necessary measures to implement any of these measures.

The decision specified these measures as follows:

1- Organizing public meetings, and organizing or prohibiting celebrations and other forms of gathering.

2- Organizing the establishment of exhibitions, cultural festivals and other cultural activities, and organizing the reception of cinemas, theaters and cultural houses for their patrons.

3- Organizing the reception of persons in places of worship and the places attached to them.

4- Obligating citizens to take all precautionary measures and health precautions established by the health authorities, including wearing protective masks, receiving vaccinations and performing some medical examinations, while present or frequenting specific places.about:blank

5- Obligating those coming from abroad to undergo quarantine procedures, perform some medical examinations, or receive anti-Coronavirus vaccines in accordance with the requirements approved by the competent authorities, or prevent the reception of arrivals from some destinations according to the epidemiological situation.

6- Banning or restricting the provision of some products or services that have the effect of exacerbating the epidemiological situation.

The decision specified the period of validity of the procedures for one year from the date of their implementation, and indicated that “all measures mentioned in the decision are subject to follow-up to assess the situation.”
