An electrician has been found guilty of aggravated and serious assault who castrated several men at their request, causing the death of one of them, the German news agency reported.
A Munich court sentenced the electrician, whose name was not revealed for privacy reasons, to eight and a half years in prison.
The prosecution initially charged the man with negligent homicide, but later dropped this charge.
The agency reported that the electrician confessed during the trial to offering “castration” service on sadistic and masochistic websites, and said that several men had paid him money to torture them and remove their castration.
During the trial, the defendant stated that he performed the operations on his kitchen table, and told his victims that he was a trained medical professional.
He indicated that he castrated or cut the genitals of eight men between July 2018 and March 2020, but denied responsibility for the death of a man who died days after he underwent surgery, as the police found the dead body in a box three weeks later.
Prosecutors had demanded 11 years in prison for serious bodily injuries caused by the electrician to his auditors, while his lawyers requested a sentence of no more than seven years.
