The Egyptian government spokesman, Ambassador Nader Saad, confirmed that his country has taken the necessary measures to confront the “Omicron” virus, denying Egypt’s need for further measures.
During a telephone interview on the “From Egypt” program, Nader Saad indicated that “Egypt was one of the first countries in banning travel to the only country in which the “Omicron” mutant appeared, which is South Africa, and in applying precautionary measures to all those coming from the southern African countries. 11 countries,” explaining that “additional procedures are being applied to them, and they do not reach Egypt directly, but through other countries.”
Regarding the measures taken, the spokesman for the Egyptian Council of Ministers explained that “whoever proves positive to be infected with the Corona virus, and does not hold the Egyptian nationality, will be deported immediately, while the infected Egyptians are transferred to isolation hospitals and fever hospitals and receive the necessary care until their recovery.”
He stressed, “These measures we were in full swing with the countries of the world, and Egypt took the necessary measures on the same day that the countries of the world took these decisions.”
Ambassador Nader Saad denied Egypt’s need for more measures, stressing that “there is no contemplation of additional measures, and that there is no serious or scientific study that proves that the new mutant is more dangerous than its predecessors, or that it spreads faster than its predecessors, or that it causes more deaths than Exceed it, or cause more serious symptoms,” adding: “It is possible that the new mutant does everything I said about it, but it has not yet been done, and the world needs time to prove it.”
Saad stressed that “the Egyptian measures against the new mutator are sufficient,” while he expected to reconsider them in light of the data received.
He continued, “The same thing we hear about the new mutant, we heard before about the mutated Delta and Delta Plus.. There is no need to panic, and in Egypt we do not need any measures in the current period, and we are waiting for the results of scientific research that takes weeks to make sure of the nature of this mutant.”
