A recent British study talked about the discovery of a new virus from the Corona family in bats in Britain, which holds a great chance of infecting humans, and that it will be the source of the next pandemic.
A new study prepared by the University of East Anglia and the Societies of Zoology and Public Health in England showed that the new virus was called “RhGB01” and carries the chances of transmission to humans, if one of those infected with the virus that causes “Covid-19” deals with a bat carrying the virus. The new one, according to Al Arabiya.
The study, published on the “Resources Square” website, showed that the new virus falls within a subgroup of the “Corona” family called “Sarbic”, and this type contains both the “emerging corona” responsible for the current epidemic, and the “SARS-CoV” virus responsible About the SARS virus, which spread in 2003.
She pointed out that the only scenario for its transmission to humans is the infection of a bat carrying a “RhGB01” infection with the “Covid-19” virus, which gives the new virus the ability to infect human cells.
Despite the severity of the scenario, Andrew Cunningham of the Zoological Society of London emphasized that the virus was not a threat to humans because the receptor-binding domain (RBD), the part of the virus that binds to host cells to infect them, is incompatible with the ability to infect human cells.
But he also explained that the problem is that if a bat infected with RhGB01 becomes infected with the “Covid-19” virus, there is a risk that hybridization will occur between the two viruses, and a new virus appears bearing the receptor binding domain (RBD) of the “Covid-19” virus that causes the disease. and thus be able to infect people
