Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received a video message from Israeli President Isaac Herzog, after Al Nahyan received the “Researcher Statesman” award for his role in spreading peace and tolerance in the world.
The Israeli President congratulated the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi on the award, stressing that “his peace decisions are a historic turning point for the region.”
In a video message sent to the honoring ceremony, Herzog said, “On my own behalf and on behalf of the State of Israel, I congratulate Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with this award from The Washington Institute,” adding in Arabic: “Congratulations.”
And he continued, “For the Israeli people, peace is the goal for which we pray every day, and I am honored to be today in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the peacemaker.”
He pointed out that “the Ibrahim agreements and the steps taken by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to welcome all the followers of the Abrahamic religions in the Emirates represent a historical turning point for us.”
He pointed out that “those decisions will lead to a brighter and more peaceful future for all countries and peoples of the Middle East.”
And he added, “Let’s look at the brave decision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which will contribute to transforming the region into a hub for innovation, an oasis of stability and a home for respect for religions.”
“We look forward to working together to deepen relations between the two countries and reach the stage of integration,” he added.
He continued, “When I see the prosperity of the UAE in all fields of artificial intelligence, technology and others, and the prosperity of the Jewish community with this cooperation, we realize that we are on the right path.”
The Israeli president thanked Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Emirati ambassador to Washington, Yousef Al-Otaiba, and expressed his aspiration to receive them in Jerusalem soon.

The Washington Institute for Near East Policy presented the global award to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at a ceremony held in Abu Dhabi, for his “leading in global peace efforts and spreading religious tolerance.”
The Institute’s Scholar Award celebrates outstanding leaders who, through their public service and professional achievements, exemplify the idea that an outstanding knowledge of history is essential to wise and effective policy and the promotion of peace and security in the Middle East.
Previous winners include Jordan’s King Abdullah II, former Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, former US President Bill Clinton and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
The award was won by former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Henry Kissinger and George Shultz, and former US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta.
