“We will take NASA, the Army and the Oil.” Ted Cruz sets the terms for Texas’ Secession from the United States

US Senator Ted Cruz stressed the need for Texas to separate from the United States if Democrats “fundamentally destroyed” the country, but added that he was “not ready to abandon America” yet.

Speaking at a recent Texas A&M conference, Cruz said things could reach a “hopeless point” if the Democratic Party could “disrupt and fundamentally destroy the country”, amend the Supreme Court system, turn Washington DC into a state, and federalize elections with Significantly expand the scope of fraud.

This came in the context of the Republican Senator from Texas responding to a question posed by a student from the crowd who asked him about his feelings about the separatist movement in Texas.

Cruz indicated that he is not ready to abandon America and “loves this country,” adding that Texas bears an “additional responsibility” to the United States as “an amazing force that prevents America from falling into the abyss and that preserves America’s deep-rooted values.”

He stressed that the state is not at the stage that calls for Texas secession, and while he does not support the separatist movement, he “understands the feelings behind it.”

“We’re not there yet, and if there’s a hopeless point, I think we’ll take NASA, the military, the oil,” Cruz said.

The Texas Nationalist Movement, or TEXT, asserted that its mission is to “secure and protect the political, cultural, and economic independence of the nation of Texas and to restore and protect a constitutional republic and the inherent rights of the people of Texas.”
