Our two prestigious universities in the US state of New York announced on Sunday the evacuation of parts of their buildings after receiving a bomb threat in several locations.
In a series of tweets, Cornwall University in Ithaca directed students, staff and visitors to leave the law school and other buildings, as well as avoid the campus center after local police received a call reporting there were bombs at those locations.
The university asked the 21,000 students not to call the police except in an emergency.
Columbia University in New York City, which has 31,000 students, also evacuated three buildings after receiving bomb threats, according to the university newspaper.
The university called for avoiding those buildings until further notice, the newspaper said in a tweet.
On Friday, Yale University in Connecticut received bomb threats, but it turned out later that they were not credible.
