Iran : Banning a daily newspaper that published a picture of Khamenei’s “hand”

Iranian authorities banned a daily newspaper for publishing on its front page a picture showing the hand of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in red, drawing the poverty line

And the Iranian Media Control Authority announced, according to the Iranian “Mehr” agency, that it had closed the daily “Kalid” after it published an article on its front page entitled “Millions of Iranians live below the poverty line.”

In the article, there was a picture similar to a previous image of Khamenei writing on a piece of paper with his left hand

The state-run IRNA news agency admitted to closing the Clid newspaper, without explaining the reason for the decision.

Iran, whose economy has been in trouble since 1979, has come under increasing pressure since former President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew his country from Tehran’s nuclear deal with world powers in 2018.
