Israel warns its citizens against traveling to Ethiopia

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a warning to citizens against traveling to Ethiopia, against the backdrop of the Ethiopian government declaring a state of public emergency in the country.

The ministry’s warning stated: On November 21, the Ethiopian government declared a state of public emergency following the escalation of attacks in the country. In light of this, there may be disruptions and restrictions on flights, traffic, access, communication and availability of food.

The Ministry recommended that Israelis planning to travel to Ethiopia consider avoiding non-essential travel at this time… The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Israeli citizens residing in Ethiopia consider shortening their stay, be vigilant and follow the course of the fighting there and the situation in the Ethiopian capital in particular.
