Wall Street indices rose to record levels as demand for stocks increased amid a strong corporate earnings season, while investors awaited the outcome of the Federal Reserve meeting.
During the session, the three indices recorded record highs during trading.
According to preliminary data, the “Standard & Poor’s 500” index rose 17.30 points, (0.38 percent), to end the session at 4,631.05 points, while the “Nasdaq Composite” index rose 53.69 points, or 0.34 percent, to close at 15,649.60 points.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average also closed up 139.25 points (0.39 percent), to 36053.09 points.
Pfizer shares rose more than 4 percent after the drugmaker announced that it expects sales this year of the Covid-19 vaccine, which it developed with its German partner Biontech, to reach $ 36 billion.
US corporate earnings for the third quarter so far have been better than expected as the economy recovers from the coronavirus pandemic.
