A security official from the movement of the authority’s organs of the “Taliban” movement, on condition of anonymity, said that at least 25 people were killed and more than 50 others were wounded in the attack, but no official statistics were issued to confirm the number of casualties.

Sardar Muhammad Daud Khan is the largest military hospital in Afghanistan, with 400 beds.

The “Taliban” and several sources confirmed that the attack was carried out by two explosions at the entrance to the hospital, accompanied by shooting by a group of gunmen.

The movement’s spokesman, Bilal Karimi, said that Taliban security forces killed 4 of the attackers and arrested another.

Photographs released by residents showed a plume of smoke rising above the area of ​​the two explosions near the former diplomatic area in the Wazir Akbar Khan district in central Kabul.

No party has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but the operation matches the attacks carried out by ISIS.

The attack comes after a series of bombings carried out by the organization, which emerged as the biggest threat to the “Taliban” control of Afghanistan.
