Police say one person has been injured in a knife attack on the Queens subway in New York City.
The New York Police Department said it responded to a report of an encounter on the platform of a northbound train at 74th Street Station in Jackson Heights. “There may have been one or two men who attacked the victim with a knife, wounding him in the leg and tearing his eye out,” she added.
According to the police, the second man tried to intervene and may have been in possession of a pistol. “It seems that the attacker or attackers fled on foot,” she said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he is expected to make a full recovery.
Police said no arrests have been made, and an investigation is underway.
