Pyongyang warns Washington against deploying nuclear weapons on the Korean Peninsula
North Korea has warned the United States against attempts to deploy a “strategic nuclear capability” on the Korean Peninsula.
North Korea’s first secretary to the United Nations, Kim In-chul, said during a session of the United Nations General Assembly’s First Committee that the United States spends huge money annually on developing hypersonic weapons, high-precision, long-range weapons, new-generation ballistic missiles and strategic nuclear bombers.
“All of this is planned to be used against the DPRK in the future war,” he added.
“In order to settle the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula, the United States should abandon its hostile policy and double standards toward the DPRK, forever abandon offensive military exercises and deploy strategic nuclear capabilities on or around the Korean Peninsula,” he said.
