Erdogan reveals an issue that will top the agenda of his next meeting with Biden

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that he intends to hold a meeting with his American counterpart Joe Biden in the near future, and revealed an issue that will top the agenda of this meeting.

Today, Wednesday, Erdogan indicated to reporters accompanying him on board the presidential plane upon his return to his homeland from Azerbaijan, that the meeting is likely to be held not in the Italian capital, Rome, on the sidelines of the G-20 summit at the end of this month, but in the Scottish city of Glasgow, which will host the United Nations conference in early November. The 26th climate.

The Turkish president stressed that the issue of “F-35” fighters will be the most important issue on the agenda of the meeting, saying: “We paid 1.4 billion dollars for the F-35, and regarding these payments we must discuss with them (the Americans) what is their payment plan.”

The United States had previously expelled Turkey from the F-35 production program and refused to supply it with these aircraft, in response to its acquisition of the Russian S-400 air defense systems in 2019.

Erdogan had said that the United States offered Turkey to acquire F-16 fighters after it had excluded Ankara from the F-35 program.
