Italy.. Two people were killed in a storm that turned the streets of the south into rivers

A rainstorm hit the island of Sicily in southern Italy, causing massive flooding in the city of Catania, turning streets into rivers, and fields into lakes.

For its part, the police confirmed that “this is the second case, as the body of a 67-year-old man was found on Monday after water and mud hit his car, and his wife is still missing.”

Mayor Salvo Polizzi, in turn, called on everyone not to “leave their homes except for emergencies,” adding that he had “ordered the closure of all shops except for pharmacies and groceries until midnight.”

And the media said that the water flooded the ward of Garibaldi Hospital in Catania, and the rain caused a power outage in the city center and inundated shops.
