The ministry revealed that 25 new deaths were recorded during the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 200,003 since the outbreak of the epidemic in March 2020.

This, and Peru records the highest death rate relative to the population, with 6,065 deaths per million inhabitants, according to an AFP census based on official data.

The decline in the number of injuries allowed the government to ease some health measures and revitalize parts of the economy, as the night curfew was reduced to only two hours, while restaurants were allowed to operate at full capacity.

Peru comes after Brazil and Mexico in terms of the number of deaths in Latin America, knowing that the population in these two countries is seven and four times the population of Peru.
