Earthquake hits western Algeria

An earthquake measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale struck, on Tuesday evening, western Algeria, according to the local “An- Nahar ” channel . 

And the channel’s website quoted the Research Center in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics “CRAAG”, that at around 7:51 pm, an earthquake measuring 2.9 degrees on the Richter scale occurred in the municipality of Sidi Abdel Rahman in the state of Chlef.

According to the civil protection interests of the state, the epicenter of the tremor was located in the sea, 37 km northwest of the coastal Sidi Abdel Rahman, while no significant losses were recorded, according to the channel.
